Was it easy to book?
Yes, very. I was impressed by the receptionist I spoke to. She gave me treatment advice, volunteered detailed local parking information, and booked me a slot at the time I was looking for. I liked being sent a text reminder the day before my treatment to confirm the appointment.
First impressions?
Bright, clean shop-front. Shiny, happy staff.
How did they welcome you?
In a friendly, efficient manner. The receptionist asked whether I'd been to the treatment rooms before and gave me a consultation form to complete in the waiting area in the foyer. As well as the usual health-oriented questions, the form also included questions regarding drinks and comfort preferences.
What happens next?
My therapist, Laura came to greet me and showed me the wide array of Leighton Denny nail polish colours, instructing me to take my pick. She then led me upstairs for my pedicure. The room (one of five treatment rooms at Dove Spa Reigate) was a decent size, modern, well lit, with a couch in the centre.
The room looked freshly painted white but wasn't scrupulously clean; there was fluff and a tissue on the floor which let down an otherwise immaculate room.
Which treatments did you have?
I had the Classic Pedicure. It lasted approximately 40 minutes, though no duration information was on the website.
What were the treatments like?
Laura asked me to sit up on the couch with my legs bent so that my feet could rest in the bowl of warm water she had just prepared for me. She began by letting my feet soak for a minute, then took them out to apply nail polish remover. (I had meant to remove my existing colour before my appointment, but ran out of time.) Laura didn't seem at all bothered by this.
My bare nails went back into the bowl briefly before Laura took one foot out, and lightly filed the skin on my heel and trimmed some stray cuticles. She repeated this process on my other foot, then treated them both to a quick exfoliation. The exfoliation extended to the tops of my feet and felt relaxing, too. She then placed my soothed and smoothed feet back in the water for a last rinse before the polish was applied. I was impressed by how naturally friendly and professional Laura was, and how carefully she applied the flame-red polish I'd chosen - it's not the most forgiving of shades. She was also complimentary about Dove spas in general and obviously liked working at Dove Spa Reigate - Dove's first spa to open.
How did you feel afterwards?
Impressed with the colour and the result, and glad to have remembered to bring my flip-flops.
What happens afterwards?
Laura offered me a cup of tea and led me back downstairs to sit in the reception/waiting area while my polish dried. I appreciated the good stock of current magazines.
Long-term effects
The Leighton Denny nail polish lasted well and didn't chip easily.
Was it worth it?
At £28.50 for this relaxing pedicure, I think it was relatively good value -- especially as it cost £4 less than advertised on Dove Spa's website. I felt this pedicure delivered great results.
What else could you have?
Dove Spa weren't able to give me a treatment menu but directed me back to their website which lists: "a variety of facials including hydra cleanse, microtone and dermabrasion plus a variety of 'personalised' facials, massages (inc. hot stone), spray tan, colonic hydrotherapy, hopi ear candles, reflexology. And dedicated male treatments: manicure, pedicure and facial; Hair removal inc. IPL."
What do you wish you'd known before you went?
To check out their offers. Dove Spa promotes quite heavily with good offers throughout the year. Also, it's worth noting that there's no relaxation area.
Any special features?
The spa has two nail bars.
Who do you think would like it?
Anyone looking for a beauty treatment in a friendly, unintimidating environment.
Why did you give the spa this rating?
We gave Dove Spa Reigate 4 bubbles because it had a good standard of treatment, facilities and service. The staff were friendly from booking to checkout, without knowing that I was writing a review. There was a good atmosphere and a professional approach.
I spoke with two other customers who also rated their experiences highly.

Would you go again?
Yes, if I wanted a treatment in the Reigate area. I would like to try Dove's skin diagnosis and signature facial using their own professional spa beauty product range.
We visited this spa in October 2009.
