Helen reviews Eastthorpe Hall, Mirfield

I have read with interest the reviews on Eastthorpe Hall. Apart from the one bad review all I can say is that, from my point of view it is THE best experience ever! I was invited along with a group of girls, feeling a little flustered after my route-map took me on an unexpected diversion. However, the minute I stepped through the door I can honestly say I was greeted with courtesy and smiling faces which continued to set the tone for the whole day - nothing was too much trouble!

The building itself is beautiful and every little part of it is dressed immaculately and has a real "wow" factor. I especially liked the stained glass Angel Window and the two angel pictures in the relaxation room. Aesthetics aside, the attention to detail is second to none and you really are treated with care and attention. My day started with breakfast in the conservatory, a delicious croissant and a non-alcoholic fruit cocktail which tasted heavenly, apparently honey, mango juice and ginger ale were its only ingredients... it was sublime!

After that we were shown to the pool and steam rooms, the steam cabinets were great fun... we were all guided individually to them and left with just our heads poking out which reminded us of something out of a western! Shortly after we were taken to the relaxation room and then each of our party were greeted by their respective therapist. During the day I was lucky enough to receive a full body aromatherapy massage, a facial, a paraffin hand wax, a luxury pedicure and also lunch. I would be hard-pressed to say which treatment was the best as they were all wonderful.

I would say the way this spa sets itself apart from others is that the clients are treated with such care and respect that you really do feel pampered from head to toe. Another important factor is that there is not one bit of "hard-sell" of products used, you just feel as though every part of the treatment is for your own well-being and no other reason.

My only "complaint" is that I wasn't transported home on a cloud instead of having to drive back on the motorway.... but then that would just be greedy!!!
