Katie reviews Eastthorpe Hall, Mirfield
I was in need of a day of relaxation and here I am at Eastthorpe.
As soon as I walked through the door my day started, greeted by warm friendly staff. No phones no clocks just peace and quite.
I was guided round by friendly therapists. I started with the pool steam and sauna. The pool area with jacuzzi was lovely with views over looking a well kept garden. Everything was timed so you didn't end up looking like a prune. The therapist explained the benefits of the sauna and steam. After a shower I changed into my underwear dressing gown and slippers which I stayed in all day, very cosy.
I was guided by a therapist to my first treatment of Eastthorpe Holistic Facial 1 hour and 15 mins. The treatment room was warm and lit by candles with relaxing music, the bed was wide and very comfy. The facial started with a back massage followed by the facial in between there was scalp, hand, arm and foot massage. It was divine I didn't want to move.
I was guided downstairs by my therapist and taken through to mid morning break which was a warm croissant, fruit cocktail drink and a cup of tea. I could then wander from lounge to lounge with views over looking the garden its a shame it was cold outside otherwise I could have sat out. I cuddle up with my book into the corner of one of the large comfy sofa's. After a little while I was guided through for my hand wax and taken through into the relax lounge with full size lounge beds, the room was lit with soft lamps, candles and soft music, this was bliss. I had now completely forgotten about the outside world.
My hand wax was removed a little later my hands felt lovely and soft. I asked if I could stay here and rest they said yes, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Next news was lunch time where had the morning gone, the therapists guided you through to lunch the chef was there to greet you and explain the dishes on the hot and cold buffet what a feast. After lunch the therapist went through your treatments to remind you what was install for your afternoon. My next treatment was reflexology, having never experienced this it was very informative about your life style, relaxing having your feet spread and massaged. The feeling afterwards was light feet and a feeling of well being.
My package was DIY I could have had more treatments when I booked if I had wanted, but the relaxing time in between was great. I was guided through to afternoon tea wow what a treat home-made cup cakes with fresh fruit and cream. To sum up my experience, its an escape from the world and time for yourself. The therapists, staff and chef were all excellent and the treatments divine. The surroundings were warm and cosy especially the relax lounge.
I have re-booked for August, you must visit Eastthorpe.
