Victoria reviews New Park Manor, Hampshire
My husband and I recently visited New Park Manor for a romantic anniversary getaway. We enjoyed the break, however there were a number of dissapointing features about the hotel and spa. Firstly, we booked a four poster room and quite frankly it was very tired in respect of worn furniture, soft fabrics i.e. very worn carpet and faded drapes.
Sitting in the lovely roll top bath I was able to look out of gorgeous period windows but through crumbling window frames. The room was 'comfortable' but not up to the standard the hotel were charging £349 with bed, breakfast and evening meal. The food was lovely but choices such as game/venison were not available.
We found the spa staff very friendly, but infact the spa area itself was very small and on the Saturday it became very crowded and noisy. Again, some of the facilities needed a bit of a 'refresh' ie a dirty pool floor, windows, decking and dead pot plants. The treatments we had were very good quality and the therapist seemed very experienced.
Overall, a mixed review it was enjoyable but overpriced and I do not agree with you 5 bubbles rating for the experience I had, I would say a 3.
