An unrelaxing day for two at Bannatynes, Solihull

I purchased a spa day as a belated 50th birthday present for a friend recently. It was a disastrous day and a great disappointment and nobody seems to be interested in the "customer" and doing anything about it!

We arrived and went to the changing room to discover plenty of empty lockers but no locker keys! So back up to reception who only had one padlock which my friend and I shared. The pool was laned off and there were children in this pool having lessons and generally being noisy children. Now bearing in mind we had booked "A Relaxation Day for Two" why on earth would we go on a day when there were children in for up to 4 hours??? Nobody told us about this otherwise we would have booked elsewhere.

Bannatyne admit they should have told us. Our massages were very ordinary and there was no consultation about oils which there should have been. My friend also had to put up with a treadmill going above her head whilst she was having her massage which was extremely distracting. Bannatyne acknowledge they have had complaints over this but have done nothing about it.

Other irritations were mediocre lunch and drinks advertised at different prices. Bannatyne have offered a repeat day but who wants to repeat things they can't get right the first time. I have asked for repeat at another Bannatyne centre on the basis that they have got to be better and they won't have children! I feel that my friend and I have had a raw deal and that Bannatyne have put up a "Corporate Brick Wall" and basically do not want to know. I gather health clubs and spas are not regulated and I feel they should be to avoid this sort of thing happening.
