Jonathan reviews Chewton Glen, Hampshire

I regularly visit the Spa at Chewton Glen in the New Forest. The hotel is a million miles away from a hectic work life in central London!

As soon as you step out the car the excellent service begins. Your car is parked, the hotel receptionist directs you to the spa and your treatments await. A fantastic pool both indoors and out with excellent hydro pool and warm beds to sit and watch the world go by. The treatments are brilliant with a good choice and very experienced therapists who are eager to please. A glass of water and sorbet is served after treatments. Fluffy towels, slippers and dressing gowns await you and lockers are a good size so clothes don't get creased. Good quality products are also provided to use in the changing rooms.

The facilities are one of the best I have visited and accommodate for all needs. The spa's grounds are worth a wonder before you go or you could have a glass of champagne on the terrace.

If you get the chance to stay, do. It's a shame to leave such a haven when you can extend the pampering and stay for afternoon tea and dinner. Rooms are of a good size and excellent quality, where a choice of duvet or sheets can be requested. All the staff know your name and tips/ service charge are all included in the price so no need to have cash at hand.

A real escape from life that is worth every penny. It has my vote any time.
