Lynn Lamont reviews Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel Spa, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire
Today we went to Tortworth Hall Spa. We were greeted by very friendly staff and the treatment rooms looked lovely. We were given a tour and then got changed. Changing rooms were not very nice. Very basic. The pool was small and very busy all day. We went in the Jacuzzi but didn't go back in the pool.
The first treatment was neck back and shoulders massage and a facial. Even though I asked the therapist to use more pressure it still felt like I was being tickled, same with the facial. The couches were incredibly hard, they felt like portable tables and the rooms were cold.
Later we had the Coconut and milk wrap which was very nice. Once you had been wrapped you had to keep turning over so she could wipe all the oil and exfoliant off, would have been easier if you could have jumped in the shower.
The hotel is a very busy one and not one you can walk around in your robe without standing out like a sore thumb. It is in a beautiful location and the grounds are lovely. The food was good but the restaurant was fully booked so we had to eat in the bar but the food was lovely. Overall very relaxing but a bit more attention to detail needed. 2 bubbles.
