"I am a solicitor and I organised a female marketing day this week at Eastthorpe and what a day we had. With blackberrys out of sight and watches banned, we had a day above all days that my clients and fellow colleagues absolutely loved.

I personally had the Indian head massage and the hot stones massage that were both incredible. The therapist felt like she was an octopus having 8 hands! The food was sensational and the setting, idyllic. We felt welcomed, spoilt and totally relaxed and I couldn't recommend it highly enough for those either wanting to go on their own or as part of a group.

Fantastic."

"Eastthorpe Spa is amazing, nothing is too much trouble and no matter how stressed you feel on your way there, you certainly come out feelinG TOTALLY relaxed, healthy and refreshed! I took one of my best friends to experience this wonderful retreat in Mirfield, and she has text me over and over again since we left saying how she's looking forward to the next visit. It's so special and every time you go it just seems to get better! I've been about 5 or 6 times now for a 1/2 day detox package and it never fails. I was really impressed with the new pool and Jacuzzi area too, the temperature in the pool was just right! Any warmer and it would have been too stifling, When you get out of a hot jacuzzi the last thing you want is an over heated pool..so I disagree with the comments made below. Plus it's not very hygenic to have the swimming pool too hot..as bacteria multiplys quicker in warmer temperatures. I feel there's just no pleasing some people. The owners of Eastthorpe Spa have clearly invested a huge amount of time and money on this venture in order to maintain regulars and encourage new people to try this award winning day spa in Mirfield, so I would like to say a BIG thank you for this added area of pure pleasure, it's wonderful! Our treatments were perfect, we had a full body exfoliation, full body massage, chocolate facial etc...it was that relaxing we both fell asleep. We had a fantastic time, the food as always was out of this world and the whole experience did exactly what we hoped for and lots lots more. Thanks!"

"I recently visited the spa and I must say I sgree with the previous comments about it having gone downhill. I was looking forward to the whole day as I consider myself a regular and knew what to expect but I was left feeling fairly disappointed on this ocassion. The pool and jacuzzi were too cold but I was not in there long as I was quickly rushed off to my first treatment which also seemed rushed. I didnt seem to be in my treatment for as long as my friend even though we had the same treatment. I am also inclined to agree that the therapist seemed inexperienced. As always though, the food was fanatastic, beautifully presented and delicious. I had my hand wax in the afternoon and I think I may have been forgotten about as it was on much longer than usual! To sum up, it just wasn't the usual 'Eastthorpe experience' I think I would be tempted to try other spas to recapture the personal, intimate spa experience that I have become accustomed to."

"I rarely feel compelled to leave feedback, however, I recently visited Eastthorpe after receiving gift vouchers for my birthday, and genuinely had the most amazing day. I had read a review on Eastthorpe that suggested it was a 'best kept secret', 'oasis of calm' and 'an amazing experience' which I thought must be an exaggeration, but it really was all those things.
The spa is unassuming, the staff were welcoming without being over-bearing or pretentious, the atmosphere was relaxed, informal and just very beautiful and the attention to detail on the interior alone made me want to just sink into a sofa and simply enjoy the whole environment which just oozed quality and fabulous taste...a good start to my day! The range of treatments were extensive and an experienced therapist talked through my requirements with me (and actually listened to me) and then recommended suitable treatments and my full body massage left me feeling calm, relaxed and definitely eased my very stressed shoulders, it still makes me smile at the feeling of just how good I felt afterwards. The pool was a pleasant surprise and immaculately clean and the relaxation rooms were just bliss. The lunch was exceptionally good, presented personally by the Chef who clearly loved creating the carefully thought out menu and all the dishes were balanced and a little bit different, and the great thing is you can try everything, which I did and indulged myself with a glass of good pink champagne.
I'm not that difficult to please, but I have visited many spas in the past and have felt over charged/ under-whelmed by the whole experience. I feel that they over-promise and under-deliver, treatments which always sounds fabulous in the brochure but in reality resemble nothing like it, often delivered by an in-experienced therapist, who is guaranteed to talk too much when all you want is peace and an escape from your daily routine! Eastthorpe is very different, it is just such a great way to spend a day and get de-stressed and I have already booked to go back with friends and I can't wait to share it with them. Loved it! spa gazer 19/08/08"

"I am a regular visitor to Eastthorpe Hall but I visited last week and the place seems to have gone downhill a little despite the new addition of the pool. The pool and jacuzzi was cold, there are lots of new members of staff which dont seem as experienced as the usual standard of therapists, the treatments my friend and I had were different lengths in time and we were left with parrafin wax on our hands for what seemed like well over an hour and I had to go and find someone to ask them to remove it for us!! The food was delicious as usual and my facial was fantastic which was given by a therapist that has bee working at the spa since I started visiting about 4 years a go, this was the worst experience at the spa I have had and I feel they need to invest in some new, more experienced therapists and a heater for the pool!!"

"I am still on cloud 9 after visiting Eastthorpe Hall, I was a little dissapointed by the last reviewer, as the pool has only been opened for little over 3 weeks and it was explained to us that the new system of incorporating the pool and jacuzzi was taking time to bed in! Eastthorpe Hall provides so many different treats within the day packages that there simply isn't the time to spend hours going in and out of the facilities, not like other places that charge a fortune for very little, Eastthorpe really offers incredible value for money, I was there for a whole day and felt that I had paid already for just my morning, and I was there for a whole day!!!!! Nothing is too much trouble, delightful staff, exceptional surroundings, food to die for (check out the goats cheese and red onion tart), champagne, magnificent grounds and even a mongolian yurt situated at the bottom of the garden - sheer bliss! I cannot recommend it enough - I even booked in again before I left - that must say everything, couldn't believe how many celebrities were there, something they have never bragged about - a real find, sadly the secret is out though - they are fully booked for next 2 months!!!"

"I visited eastthorpe hall recently and was looking forward to a day of relaxation and using the new facilities of the pool and jacuzzi. I was given a warm welcome and started to relax within a few minutes. I was taken to get changed and use the hydrotherapy area, which i felt i was rushed through and i was dissapointed that i only got to spend 10 minutes in the pool and jacuzzi and wasnt allowed to back in after i had got out. I was then whisked off for my treatments which i must say were very good. I also really enjoyed the food during the day. This isnt the first time i have visited eastthorpe and i did feel relaxed when i left (as usual) but i felt that the pool hasnt added anything to the experience just that you now spend less time in the sauna and steam boxes to spend 10 minutes in the pool."
