It will end in tears !"- Thewholetruth 27/07/2010 "I've visited this spa twice over 3 years and everytime the Jacuzzi has been broken down. Read all the reviews and make up your mind. The place is getting run down. I saw a women mopping the floor with either a dressing gown or towel. Not exactly appealing. It takes days and days to make an appointment. In the end one can end up rather upset. Worse of all customer service can be abrupt if you are lucky, but rude if you are not. If this place tried a little customer service - they'd take a Giant leap. I've learned my lesson !"- Pearljam 19/07/2010 "I've treated myself to pampering sessions at the Royal Day Spa a number of times, and I've never been disappointed. The spa is always spotless, and the staff there are always very helpful, and gave gone the extra mile to make my visit special.- Emma Easterbrook 30/06/2010 "We booked our day based on the website photographs. The photographs did not show the dirt and the shabbiness of this establishment. We were shocked and horrified by what we found. Dirty, soiled sheets on the communal lounging bed, that we were assured were changed EVERY WEEK1!! dirty toilet in the changing room, four scruffy deck chairs to sit on around the pool and the jacuzzi was not working. We had been trying to confirm our appointments both by e-mail and phone, but, when we arrived, we were told that they had made a mistake. We could each only have one 20 minute appointment as one of the therapists had not turned up. Bitter complaints fell on deaf ears and we were very rudely treated. Even the tea cups were chipped!! We paid £64 each for a nine to two pm session. One lady was so disgusted that she left straight away. The rest of us waited and waited. I had repainted toenails for which I was charged a further £20. All in all, a short stay in hell cost me £84. We, who have been to many spas all over the world would never ever visit again and we will make sure that everyone we speak to will be made fully aware of this shoddy, disgraceful place."- Joan Spiers 24/06/2010 "I booked the £10 spa day and went with a friend, was surprised how small the "spa" is, the changing room are old and dirty and in desperate need of a revamp, the lunch @ £14 for a sandwich, soft drink and a brownie was overpriced and was put together in front of us at reception !!!! The facial I had was nice, but when I came out I realised my friend also had hot stones used on her which I didn't yet we had the same facial !!! I queried this with reception only to be told "different therapists do different things" I interpreted this as if they can be bothered they will give you the hot stones !! Staff on reception were rude and unhelpful, Overall not a very nice experience I wish I had looked at this website on the reviews before I went, I have been to many lovely spa's and both myself and my friend agreed this the worse spa we have ever been too !!!"- Jazmine 04/06/2010 "After reading reviews on this site I went ahead and booked 3 £10 spa days to take with various friends at The Royal Day Spa. This spa is 2 hours from my home (but I will travel any distance for a good spa!!) unfortunately this was not at all worth the trip. The seats & beanbags in the spa area were mildewed, on one trip the jacuzzi wasn't working (this is one of just five things to do at the spa so was a big disappointment), there were doorhandles missing, on one trip my friend and I were asked to share a locker and a dressing gown (!) it was a disaster. I wrote to the spa and just got a call to say that everything was now fixed and they had replaced the door handle, that was all! Not good enough and definitely won't be going back!!"- sammylou100 01/06/2010 "I last visited this spa at Christmas time and had a truly wonderful day. I had given birth to my baby daughter in Sep last year and was feeling exhausted by December. A friend treated me to the works and I have to say it was worth every penny (of hers!!) It was my 3rd or 4th time at the Royal Day Spa it has been more enjoyable each time. The surroundings are an inspiration, the atmosphere totally calming and the staff completely attentive. Looking forward to going back soon."- Alex Nandra 09/05/2010 "This was the most repulsive dirty spa i have ever, ever had the misfortune to be in in any part of the world. From broken tiles, filthy floors and towels, piles of unwashed cups and fruit skins left lying over the "bed". Showers that didnt work and staff that didnt care. Avoid at all costs."- eclipse1 27/04/2010 "Visited this spa last week with 3 friends. We only paid £10 each on an offer through lastminute.com. Glad we didn't pay any more it was ok and we all enjoyed our day relaxing and chatting but it was little things that were missing that took the edge of our experience. 3 of us had booked a Tai Chi class but on arrival we asked where it was held to be told it had been cancelled last week! We should have had a phone call from someone but didn't. On arrival at 9am there wasn't any fruit they were still waiting for it to be delivered. There wasn't any plastic bag to put wet swim wear in to take home. There seemed to be a shortage of hooks to hang gowns on - nothing in the toilet to hang gown up when removing swim wear. The mugs for drinks had cracks in alot of them also if you had a hot drink in it they had no handle so were too hot to hold. The picnic lunch was ok but at £14.50 very expensive for what it was. Car parking is in nearby car park @£8 for day. I would not rush back."- Mrs Toad 09/10/2009 |
