This good-value little set of treatment rooms within the health club at the Radisson hotel at Stansted Airport should send you to the abroad chilled. If you're local, you don't have to splash out too much to enjoy a refreshing spa day.

"This is not a spa! I wanted to do something relaxing for my birthday, so me and 4 other friends thought about going to this 'spa' for the day - bad move! I called about a month before our visit and was informed of a special offer which meant we would get a treatment and lunch, as well as access to the chill out room the whole day. I check what facilities were available and was informed there was a sauna, steam room, pool and jacuzzi - but there was no jacuzzi! I also checked whether they would just us bath roles, towels and slippers and was again lied to as they would only provide a bath role. There rationale for not giving out towels was because customers kept stealing them so they were limited in supply (another lie!). The actual treatment was decent enough but the staff were rude and clearly lacked any customer care skills. When we wanted to access the chill out area, we were told to wait as they were having a meeting, even though there were other rooms they could have used."
