"You can't beat the heritage of the site, the wonderful natural spring waters and the way that Thermae have built a spa around them. The spa is very popular, affordable and can get busy."

Thermae Bath Spa, Bath - 4 bubbles
Sybaritic Spy was one of the first to test the waters at Thermae Bath Spa before its opening in August 2006. Thermae invited her back in 2008 for a weekday Watsu session, which left our Spy light headed and floating on air. And very glad that she'd avoided the weekend crowds.

"We went to Bath on a romantic weekend and were recommnended the 'Twilight' experience by my regular salon. It was totally amazing - you can't book in advance but it's a timed session with three hours in the spa, including dinner in the restaurant WITH wine. Best advice would be to go on a weekday evening in winter - A hot rooftop pool in February in the dark. Never been anywhere like it, but we'll be going again!
My only gripe (a very small one) was that i'd have liked a dry robe after my first pool dip, as it meant a rather damp dinner!"

"Felt very disappointed and cheated with Thermae spa. At no time did I find the experience 'special'. All the pools were over crowded and full of petting couples around the edges of the pools.
Given the situation on the day due to unforeseen circumstances I needed to change the first treatment time and kept in touch with the spa 2 hours prior to arrival. I was told to phone 1/2 hour before arriving and they would do their upmost to change the time.
However, upon arrival was greeted by a very pleasant/ helpful young man and taken to the treatment desk. The lady on the treatment desk was rude to the man telling him to use his brain and that the treatment would not go ahead and then changed her mind and allowed 10 minutes of the treatment to take place even though there was adequate space to move the treatment booking to later in the day. This tainted the whole experience of a full day spa treatment.
As the day went on and considering I had visited the spa a few years early I was looking forward to using the hot bath (when not in use for Watsu Treatments). This used to be EXCLUSIVE to those who had treatments. Found out that you can no longer use this so was forced to use the pools full of petting couples who had only paid £20 for 2 hours.
After travelling from Aberdeen to Bath via Reading I found the whole experience unsatisfactory and as a result they have lost my custom - I will no longer return to Thermae. - £250 wasted!"
