"I have visited this spa on two occassions and each time have found it very relaxing. I wouldnt say this is one of the best spas to visit and is not that good value for money but I still had a relaxing time. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere os calming. With three treatments included in my spa day package I had a massage, facial and a pedicure. Whislst waiting for my treatments I was able to use the pool and spa facilities but they only have a small sauna and steam room in the pool area, however, I found the pool water temperature very nice and was able to go for a nice long swim."

"My dad booked me an 18th birthday spa weekend with my mum which i was really looking forward to not just being pampered for a day but a whole weekend... wow! I've been to a spa before (Aqua Sana, Elveden Forest) but nothing like Sopwell House. After my mum and i parked in the small car park behind the hotel we were more than impressed with the look of the hotel; the inside reflected on the castle look on the outside. The staff were really friendly and patient with us as we had not been before so they went through a list of details to us, i.e what time dinner was, breakfast in the morning and of course our treatments. The floors were a little uneven and the corridors were rather narrow but we were still easily amused. There were signed t-shirts and posters of previous celebrities which had also stayed there. We settled into our room which was equipped with the basics. We had a treatment each before dinner, i had a full body massage and my mum had a facial - very relaxing and the therapists were knowledgeable about the Elemis products used and knew exactly what they were doing. We then dressed for dinner, the dining room had actual trees growing up the inside of the building which added that special touch to the unique decor. We were more than impressed with the food... oh my word i've never tasted food like it.. BIG thumbs up to the chef! i had the lamb leg with mash potato and red wine gravy.. mmm very tasty, the desert was even better chocolate fudge cake. Anyway, enough of the food. My mum and i decided to explore the rest of the hotel, and the gardens which were lovely, especially during the autumn nights, the little lights glowing giving that extra attention to detail. The next day after a delicious breakfast. We waited for our therapist to come and get us for our next set of treatments, i had a facial and a pedicure and my mum had a back massage and a leg wax, which didnt turn out the way she expected by going home with bits of wax still left on her legs but we were so relaxed from our stay that we didn't want to leave. It is totally a unique and relaxing experience!! -visited Sopwell House October 2005"
