Grayshott Spa, Hindhead - 4 bubbles

A Good Spa Spy was invited to visit Grayshott and found a traditional spa, with a health-farm feel, offering a great range of treatments and activities in a peaceful, rural location. It's the only spa we know that manages to combine a toxicity test and a champagne bar.

"I would not recommend this spa at all. On arrival we failed to get a porter and no-one showed us where our room was so we were left dragging luggage around the buildings. When we finally found our room it was next to a generator so no chance of sleep. We moved room, which was a slight improvement, but it was still a 'garden room' so surrounded by spa and swimming pool generators. Not exactly quiet and relaxing and definitely no good if you have a sleep problem.
The food was excellent - although we did pop to the coop after dinner as we were still hungry, and the tennis was good, but the treatments are overpriced and we weren't shown the free facilities until the next day when we were leaving. All in all a big disappointment."
