Frederick's Hotel Spa, Maidenhead - 5 bubbles

Sensuous Spy was invited to Fredrick's Hotel Spa in Maidenhead, where she discovered that fine dining is taken just as seriously as pampering. For starters, there was their beautiful private floatation room. Add a relaxing facial, good food, and pinch of excellent customer service and you have the recipe for a perfect 5-bubble spa day.

"Overall a lovely experience but not perfect. A lovely, but very small space. The gym in the basement is tiny with only 3 cardio machines - although the treadmill was broken I booked my stay 6 weeks prior and wanted a flotation - at the time of booking I was told that it was broken and it still was on the day itself - a long time for a key facility to be out of order. This also meant that there were workmen walking around the spa on the days of my stay which was off putting. However, the space is lovely and the pool - particularly outside part - was stunning. I had a massage and a body wrap both of which were lovely. I also had a prescriptive facial - this was disappointing as I was not asked anything about my skin type or what I was looking for - and the facial itself was nothing special. Lunch on the full day was very disappointing considering the meals I had in the hotel restuarant had been so good - and champagne in a plastic glass is tacky! Overall a very nice spa and I would return"
