Earthspa, London - 5 bubbles

We were invited back to these small treatment rooms in Belgravia, and found excellent treatments using Pure Lochside organic products, friendly and knowledgeable therapists, and a comfortable relaxation area. So Earthspa keeps its 5 bubbles, despite the lack of a true robe-and-lounger experience.

"I visited the EarthSpa recently for a Dermalogica facial (55mins). Although it was a great facial I have to say that I wasn't blown away by the experience and the spa didn't live up to the expectations that I had on reading the official review of it on this website.
It was a very cold January day and I was really looking forward to entering this haven of relaxation and loveliness but felt slightly let down by the whole experience.
Starting with the greeting on arrival – it was pleasant enough but certainly wasn't the slick professional greeting mentioned in the review. The reception desk was covered in clutter when I arrived which is not a nice serene welcome. Then I was led through to the reception area in a slightly haphazard fashion. I was offered a selection of drinks...I opted for the peppermint tea (wasn't brought the biscuits mentioned in the review!) but didn't actually have an opportunity to drink it as there was no space in the reception area to set a drink down and I was somewhat balancing my bags that I had with me, the drink & the various forms that I had to fill-in.
The treatment itself was certainly very good and did everything that I would expect a good facial to do but somehow just wasn't fab. In the past I've had my facials at the Dermalogica centre in Kensington which I would have to say I prefer. I think it was more just the way it was all conducted – the level of massage wasn't great at Earthspa – it was a bit of a wishy-washy massage which felt more like an obligatory addition than a really good, integral part of the treatment as it should be. The room was pleasant though, the therapist was pleasant and competent, the bed was nicely heated etc.
So overall, I would say it was a very good treatment but the whole experience was just a little rough around the edges to get me really excited. I think I would return to try a different treatment before I make my mind up completely."

"I was given a gift voucher for christmas for a Back to Earth Package at earthspa. I have only had one other treatment before in my life and was a bit nervous about what to expect. What I found was the therapist was knowledgeable and talked me through the treatment and completely put me at my ease. The treatment room was beatiful, large and candlelit and the Back to Earth package was delightful. I left feeling relaxed, my skin looked a lot brighter and I bought my mum a gift voucher for the same treatment. Thank you earthspa. Highly recommended.

"I have been a client of Earthspa on Eccleston Street for almost three years. Clearly they rate 5 big sparkling bubbles. You immediately realize this is more than the typical resort spa. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and relaxed. As soon as you enter the spa, you feel the energy and the commitment to excellence. The treatment rooms each have a different feeling. They are decorated simply and tastefully and the atmosphere is relaxing even before the treatment begins. Each room provides privacy and soft robes are always available. The therapists are courteous, professional and very skilled in a variety of techniques and treatment methods. On my first visit, they designed a treatment regimen focused on my individual needs which included stress relief, deep tissue work, and stretching. They shared what worked for me across the team and I experienced a consistent high level of service regardless of which therapist did the work. This customized treatment provided much needed balance and contributed to my well being both physically and mentally. I have chronic back pain and I have had several back surgeries. As a result I have had regular massages all over the world. Earthspa is the best I have ever experienced. I had a regularly scheduled appointment and they always worked with me to adjust the appointment times to meet my needs. The fees are in line with other providers in London. I highly recommend them. Try them. Once you are there you never want to leave.

"I am a regular at Earthspa and wish I could go more often. I am a big fan of their facials. One of the only Spa's I know where you have your facial lying under a warmed duvet, no boring white towels here. The facials are fantastic, relaxing and effective, and more than just a facial. Individually tailored and adapted to your skin every visit, the therapist gives a firm but relaxing neck and shoulder massage whilst waiting for the products to work - no walking out of the room. I have recommended this Spa to several friends who are now also regulars. A great city Spa."

"I don't think spa is the right word...there isn't really any space to lounge around. Also, the room were ok, but not luxurious, at least not the ones that they use for massage treatments, which I had. It was actually quite small and felt cramped; I had to squeeze in between the door and the armchair and I am not big. As someone else said, my therapist didn't look too happy and seemed in a hurry to go to the next client.
The massage was ok but overpriced as the place itself is nothing special. I also found one of the ladies at the front really pushy."

"my mom and i booked this as a treat to ourselves and also as my 30th birthday present. the indian head massage was too gentle for my liking even though i had filled out a card saying i liked the massages firm. i also ahd a full budy massage and it was fantastic, the best massage i have had. last i had the signature facial. i didn't find it that relaxing. the therapist seemed stressed out and she left the room twice and came back. there was not enough hot stone massage as it said there would be. and i felt pushed into buying products at the end of the facial."
