Rockliffe Hall, Darlington - 5 bubbles

Rockliffe Hall is a gothic red-brick hotel that has recently been refurbished. The five-star hotel is also home to a huge luxury spa with extensive facilities, charming staff, plus three restaurants serving delicious fresh food. Enough to keep you busy for days.

"I have had my first " spa visit" for my daughters hen party and I have to say I felt it was a brilliant way to relax -in a bath robe and slippers( apart from a brief sojourn of my mind into an anticipated world of a funny farm!)
Being trained by Price Waterhouse many years ago but without earnings yet still a " systems orientated " individual - I was disappointed we did not arrive earlier so that I could get my swimming energy out of me before the pampering activity ( AND nearly on a full bladder after drinks at reception )
Then I was feeling nervous about getting what was on my face and shoulders washed off in the hydrothermal pool- a highly complex business ! My skin still feels silken ( two days later) -and I wonder what was in the water -is it really a spa-?there was no eye smarting chlorine !Perhaps there is some more spa intelligence for this overeducated generation-is the water local?
I looked my age again when I put my hair up and my granny specs on !"
