What is Power yoga?
A dynamic, challenging but interpretive form of Ashtanga yoga.
What is the aim of Power yoga?
To provide students with a modern twist on Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga poses.
Precautions
As this is a dynamic yoga type, people with physical limitations or medical problems should talk to their doctor before taking part.
If you are pregnant, try a specially adapted antenatal yoga class. These will include safe, comfortable positions and are designed to help you prepare for labour and birth.
What to expect from Power yoga
Power yoga does not stick to a strict Ashtanga pose series, but is based on the Ashtanga practice, so you can expect to move fluidly from pose to pose, with a particular emphasis on breath and balance.
What is Power yoga good for?
Power yoga is great for energising you after a hard day at work.
Afterwards
Take time to relax and don't do anything strenuous directly after a Power yoga session – a gentle swim can be a great finishing touch to this activity.
