What's the difference between an Indian head massage and Shiatsu head massage?
There are a lot of similarities between these head massages.
Both an Indian head massage and Shiatsu head massage aim to relax and relieve tension. Both work on the basis of pressure points that map your whole body, and both can achieve similar outcomes including a reduction in headaches, eye-strain and other difficulties. The difference is really geographic. Indian head massage is part of the ancient Hindu holistic medical practice of Ayurveda. Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese healing art. It aims to unlock and improve the flow of energy ("ki" in Japanese) that moves throughout the body along energy paths called "meridians". It works along similar lines to acupuncture. A good head massage can make you feel like you're floating, and either of these massages can make you feel this way.
