What's the difference between a pedicure and chiropody?

Whilst both pedicures and chiropody can do wonders for your feet, the procedure and the aims of each are very different.

A chiropodist is a medically trained professional who is qualified to treat diagnosed medical problems and carry out preventative care on your feet. This may involve minor surgical procedures such as cutting off dead skin, and treating in-growing toenails. A pedicurist is not a chiropodist. A pedicure is not a medical procedure. However, a regular pedicure can support the work you're having done by a chiropodist, and may prevent you from needing further treatment.
