I have very sensitive skin. Do spas use products that will irritate my skin?

The short answer is: you won't always know till you try, if you're trying something new.

Call the spa before you book to explain your concerns. Find out what products they use. It may be that they stock a hypoallergenic range, or that they use a range that you already know won't bring you out in lumps and bumps. Don't take their word for it that the products they use are "mild" or "safe" because you never know which ingredient a truly sesitive skin will react to.

If you have an allergy to a specific ingredient, such as sesame oil, which is in several spa products, let the spa know well in advance so that they can come up with an alternative. Remind them again on the day!

You could also arrange to have some spot tests done as soon as you arrive, so that you can tell if the products are going to be non-irritating before you commit to using them all over your skin.
