Temple Spa

Temple Spa is a British spa brand with "a strong Mediterranean seasoning". Wellbeing is at the heart of the Temple Spa experience. The brand has a passion for anti-ageing, aromatherapy and the indulgent spa experience.

Temple Spa prides itself in using the finest natural ingredients as well as cutting-edge scientific technology. The products were developed with the help of leading doctors, herbalists, and professors of both biochemistry and dermatology.

They say: "We all need time and space to nurture our health, to help regain energy, restore peace and calm, not only for our skin and body, but for the wellbeing of our souls. We encourage you to "create your own spa wherever you are" –- in the car, the office, the gym, at home and especially when you are travelling."

We say: "The Spa Spies have given the thumbs up to the Temple Spa products. The shining star of this show has to be Temple Spa Skin Truffle – winner of our Good Spa Guide Award for "Pamper-perfect product" in 2011."

Drift Away relaxing bathing and massage oil

100ml, RRP £22

Skin type: Combination

Temple Spa Drift Away relaxing bath and massage oil at The Good Spa Guide

Application: The oil can be used as a massage oil, or drizzled into the bath – I liked the dual purpose approach and gave it a go in the bath.

What's in it? Petitgrain, myrrh and, avocado oil.

Effect: The fresh aroma was great for my stuffy nose, and it did give a real sense of being in a spa (when I closed my eyes, at least). The oil left my skin feeling soft and moisturised, and subtly scented.

Verdict: A dual-purpose oil that is good value and high quality. It will appeal to men and women alike, with its fresh smell and clean, unfussy packaging. And it's paraben free!

In the Beginning deep cleansing melt

300ml, RRP £27

Temple Spa In The Beginning deep cleansing melt at The Good Spa Guide

Application: : I plopped some little globules around my cheeks, forehead and chin. Although it might seem unnecessary, it is best to use the spatula provided, otherwise you can end up applying too much (and using the spatula is more hygienic).

Effect: I am used to a slightly coarser facial exfoliant, so was dubious about the effectiveness of the gentle little beads. However, once I had removed the product (using a little water on the provided muslin cloth) I was surprised to reveal smooth, soft skin. The muslin cloth was lightly abrasive, giving me my additional exfoliation fix. Also, I swear my make-up went on easier and stayed put for longer after using this product - an unexpected bonus!

Verdict: A versatile and useful product suitable for use every day or as a special weekly skin treat.

Temple Spa
Skin Truffle

50ml, RRP £80

Age: 50s

Skin type: Dry

Temple Spa Skin Truffle at The Good Spa Guide

Application: This facial moisturiser can be applied day and/or night (depending on how extravagant you feel!)

What's in it? Chocolate and diamonds, champagne and strawberries!

Effect: I love the texture of this cream. Lotions and light creams leave my dry skin feeling tight. Rich creams feel better but often leave me with blocked milia. This is a rich cream but feels light, a bit like whipped double cream. It sat on my skin long enough to spread it out and then it soaked in quickly and made my skin feel very smooth. No tightness and no greasiness. Within a few days my skin looked plumper, and smoother and brighter than usual.

Verdict: I did go quite mad with the cream as I loved it so much. Use sparingly and carefully to make the precious contents last. This is one to top your Christmas and birthday present list!

AAAHHH! Soothing Balm for Aching Feet & Limbs

300ml, RRP £18

Temple Spa AAAHHH! Soothing Balm for Aching Feet at The Good Spa Guide

Application: I applied the balm to my aching feet after a long workout in the gym and I was surprised at the instant relief. I also tried the balm out on my tired legs.

Effect: I felt an instant refreshing coolness, similar to the effects of applying after-sun lotion. The effects were long lasting, even though the liquid seemed to evaporate quite quickly. My limbs did feel refreshed but I couldn't claim that there was any real relief from muscle ache.

Verdict: This is a lightweight balm that provides an instant soothing action for tired, overworked feet. Highly recommended for the serious shopper.

Temple Spa
Bronzini

75ml, £32

Reviewed by: Student Spy

Age: Teens

Skin type: Combination/oily

Temple Spa Bronzini at The Good Spa Guide

Application: Smooth over your limbs as you would a moisturiser. Temple Spa call Bronzini “ a four-in-one treat: bronzer, fragrance, moisturiser and body jewellery!”

What's in it? Rosewood, tagette, sandalwood, rose, jasmine.

Effect: This is a "non-permanent bronzer". So, a quick fix rather than a lasting fake tan. Bronzini is non-greasy so won’t leave marks on your clothes like some body shimmers. The product is indeed “a cocktail of bronze, bling and body beautiful”. The lotion smells of roses and blends hints of bronze and glow. I have never seen a fake tan that makes you sparkle at the same time!

Verdict: This bronzer is great for use on a night out, a special occasion. If you have a sudden desire to make yourself sparkle, this product is perfect.
