Clarisonic Plus Skin Cleansing System
What is the Clarisonic Plus Skin Cleansing System?
The Clarisonic Plus Skin Cleansing system comes from the makers of the Sonicare toothbrush who revolutionised the way we clean our teeth by inventing electronic whizzy toothbrushes! Clarisonic are hoping to make the same changes to our skincare routine with this over-sized "toothbrush" for face and body. Something of a cult product for beauty aficionados, Clarisonic is reported to help those who sufferer from rosacea and acne. Clarisonic are so confident you'll love it; they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee and a two-year product warranty.
They say:
"Clarisonic is used in practice by leading dermatologists, spas and aestheticians in the USA. Clarisonic is proven to remove six times more make-up and twice as much dirt as normal manual cleaning. The soft brush oscillates more than 300 times per second and helps reduce oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes. Helps reduce the appearance of visible pores. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles."

Sustainable Spy reports:
I'm usually sceptical of any product that promises the skin equivalent of the moon on a stick, however, we were genuinely impressed with the Clarisonic Plus. For such a high price tag (RRP £175), you get a pleasing amount of kit: the cordless Clarisonic brush, a charger, two brush heads (a soft facial brush and a more sturdy body brush), 30ml trial sizes of cleansers for dry, normal and oily skin types, and a 60ml skin polish for the body.
The instructions initially seemed a little confusing; the brush is on a timer and beeps at you, telling you to clean different bits of your face. You can increase the speed according to the kind of cleanse you want. I found changing the brush heads a little tricky at first. However, on the second day it all made sense.
I have sensitive skin; I get blotchy at the faintest suggestion of a firm exfoliation, but using the facial brush gave amazing results: peachy velvety smooth skin in just 60 seconds. I've used the brush once a day for ten days now; although I don't think it's making much difference with the fine lines around my eyes, the Clarisonic does seem to be evening out my blotchy complexion.
I'm lucky enough to not have a problem with spots - but live with a man who does. He trialled Clarisonic's body brush and I was seriously impressed. The larger brush head works on a 3-minute timer, long enough to buff his back, chest, arms and legs. Clarisonic is waterproof so you can easily use it in the shower. After just a few days, his congested pores and blackheads were on the way out. Tea-tree cream usually takes ages to sink in but, after using the Clarisonic, it melted away immediately. So did the spots a few days later.
Verdict: At almost £200, the Clarisonic is a big investment. If you have problem skin, it may be worth it; it certainly worked for me and Mr Sustainable Spy. With a 30-day money-back guarantee, what have you got to lose?
