Laveré

Who and what are Laveré?

Laveré was founded by Klara Ahlers, who opened Germany's first specialist natural cosmetics shop in 1988. Klara wanted to create a natural brand that would sit somewhere between mainstream luxury products, and smaller niche-market natural brands "without compromising on efficacy, ingredients or packaging appearance".

This brand was Laveré. Today, Laveré offer four skincare systems: three for the face and one for the body.

The Hydro range is designed for skin aged 25, Intensive is for skin aged 35, Solution for skin aged 45, and Body Effect is for bodies of all ages.

Laveré describe themselves as "the up-market sister" of the Lavera skincare range. Their products are 100% natural, with a percentage of organic ingredients.

They say: "If you care about your appearance you also want certified natural cosmetics that combine visible effectiveness with the benefits of organic ingredients. So it is with this desire to produce products that are 100% effective and natural"

We say: "We love the way that Laveré products are specially tailored for specific age groups. Looking for an effective anti-ageing range without the usual chemical nasties? Lavere natural skincare is for you."

Laveré products - What have we tried?

Laveré Intensive Relax Eye Care Cream

Sensitive Spy:

I was initially excited by the idea of an "Intensive Relax" but then realised that the range is called "Intensive" and the product, "Relax Eye Cream". Images of lounging around in a hammock put to one side, I got down to business with this tiny, twinkling tube of eye cream.

The packaging is sleek and modern - I was expecting a high-tech big-science anti-ageing solution within this silver and pink box. It was a lovely surprise to read the ingredient list and find nothing but naturals.

You only need a tiny dab of this eye cream - good job too, when the tube only contains 15ml. It's easily absorbed into the skin. Alongside a list of natural active ingredients as long as your arm, it cleverly contains light reflecting pigments, so the skin around your eyes instantly looks softened and your dark rings disguised.

This eye cream left my skin soft and smooth, and I loved the light-reflecting magic. A brilliant moisturiser if you're looking for an anti-ageing solution without any chemical nasties.

We say: A smooth and easily-absorbed eye cream with a deliciously fruity scent.

RRP £38.15 - 15ml

Laveré Energy Teint Hydro tinted moisturiser

Lavere Energy Teint Hydro tinted moisturiser

Single Spy:

Happiness in a silver tube. What's not to love about a product that, when you put it on, people spontaneously tell you how great you look?

Laveré products are formulated for age-groups, so this product was tailored expressly for my skin's needs. Gotta love that! It's a "moisturiser with colour", so ensures that when you put colour on your skin, it doesn't end up blotchy, just soft and smooth and even. It looks and feels very natural - as in, people tell you how great you look; they don't ask you which new foundation you're using - and gives a subtle glow to make you look and feel radiant. It's light on my skin, too.

The cream contains essential oils and, like all the Lavere products, is made with natural and organic and not (as they say) "nasty" ingredients such as petrochemicals or phthalates.

We say: It's a little pricy, but I'm worth it.

RRP £35 - 30ml

Laveré Body Effect Active Silhouette Cellulite Firming Care

Sedate Spy:

I love the packaging of this body care range, silver and turquoise, ultra luxurious. The body effect anti-cellulite oil spray is easy to apply, is quickly absorbed into the skin and has a nice fresh scent.

I used it regularly after a shower by simply spraying onto my hips and rubbing in. I have noticed a difference in my less than smooth and taught thighs, now less moon crater more malteser in appearance! It does leave your skin feeling soft and firm. Overall, I am surprisingly positive about the results and think that this is a product I would like to continue to use.

We say: Reducing the appearance of cellulite can only be a good thing - and this product delivers!

RRP £39 -50ml

Laveré Solution Night Cream

Lavere Solution Night Cream

Sedate Spy:

This anti-aging night cream comes in a small expensive looking silver tube. It has as a strange smell which I really can not identify. However, the cream itself is thick and rich to the touch and when applied after cleaning is easily absorbed into the skin. This is particularly important to me as I have very dry skin.

I found the cream a little sticky to the touch for about 15 minutes after application. Then found that my skin felt smooth and soft. I can’t say that I have noticed any visible changes but I do feel that in the morning my skin is not as dry as it usually is. I like this night cream and will definitely use it in the future.

We say: A purse-denting product but one that really smoothes and softens

RRP £79 - 30ml
