If there's a hair by the pool, we'll say so. If the therapists are snotty, we'll say so. Equally, if the infinity pool is out of this world and the facials transport you to Paradise, we'll say so as well. A visit to a spa may be good value for money but it doesn't come cheap: we want you to know what you're going to get, not the sales pitch. Sometimes we visit a spa anonymously; sometimes a spa will invite us to visit them so that we can write a review. All our reviewers understand the importance of editorial independence. If we've been invited to a spa, we'll say so in the review, but the invitation won't change what we write. The truth is out there.

Do you only feature and review the expensive spas?

No, we don't. A "good" spa is the spa that's going to meet your needs at a price you can afford. You can pay a lot of money and go to a spa that advertises itself as a "top" spa and have an okay time. You may be able to go to a hotel spa just down the road and have a great time. It's all about what meets your needs. Sometimes you want luxury, sometimes you want a quick swim and a massage, and if you can find that in a budget spa, so much the better.

Do you ever sell your email list? I don't want even more spam.

Can you recommend a spa for me?

We'd love to, but we find we're limited by the number of hours in a day and our pathetic need to sleep. You can find information about all the spas in the UK on our site, and our Spa Search will help you choose the right one for you. But we can't make individual recommendations.
